Some 100 miners have now been rescued from the flooded mine in Shanxi Province. Please pray for sufficient workers and equipment for the continued rescue efforts, and pray for the recovery of those rescued.
An 11 year-old child in mainland China donated all his savings, which came to ¥100,000, towards drought victims, living out the truth that “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. Pray that more people in China may be willing to respond in love to those affected by the drought.
Recent reports in China indicate that the physical health of young people have been on the decline for the past ten years. Pray that the government may establish effective measures and reforms to improve the physical and emotional health of youngsters.

The faith to withstand cults

blank

"I have only listened to a few of the gospel programs on the radio, and have no clear idea about the correct channels nor the broadcasting times. In our church, very few, or even none, would genuinely listen to the gospel programs. As for those who do listen, it is just a matter of fashion - buying radios, on the pretense of listening to the gospel programs. So one following the other, radios are bought, broadcasts are received, but no message is really taken. Thus the gospel programs cannot achieve their intended results here.

"Recently, an elderly brother with injured legs came to our church. During our family visit, we found out that he has a good spiritual life and strong faith. We asked him whether he had accepted Jesus. He said no. Then we asked how he came by his spiritual knowledge. He answered with a smile and said that he loved listening to the radio. Half a year ago, he came across some gospel program on the radio. As he realized that they were quite meaningful, he decided to listen to them. Thus, the Holy Spirit opened his eyes with God's word and let him know about God through the radio programs. Finally he could devote himself to Jesus. Thank God, I get a lot of inspirations from this elderly man's experience.

"Spiritually, our church is on the low and fraught with weaknesses. May the Lord empower us to resist the Devil and I hope that you would all pray for us and grow with us in Jesus together.

"I am a straight forward person. The 'Eastern Lightning' is severely affecting our church. Thank God that it has not caused any damage to our church so far. However we do need to equip ourselves so as to resist their challenge in the future. They have already disturbed all the believers in our church. Though we can still survive, we need to lean on the Lord's protection."
